  • This article refers about treating the substrate for the intensification of biogas production. Different methods of substrate treatment with different energy intensity were compared: intensification by disintegration of substrate in a mechanical way, thermal hydrolysis and ultrasound. These methods were mutually compared in terms of biogas and methane production and also in terms of energy intensity. To evaluate the effects of adjusted substrate, results of biogas production were compared with experiments using non-treated substrate. Evaluation of biogas production was assessed from the economical point of view, which was used to show the assessment of biogas production in real operation. (en)
