  • Practické použití konvenčně vyráběných materiálů je omezeno různými segregačními jevy, které jsou vytvářeny v průběhu tuhnutí a nelze je eliminovat v tuhém stavu. Technologie rychlého tuhnutí a jejich zavedení do výroby materiálů pomohlo překonat problémy s nevyhovující materiálovou kvalitou a rozšířilo možnosti výroby materiálů. Užití konvenční ingotové metalurgie při výrobě Al-slitin s vysokým podílem prvků s nízkým koeficientem difuze je nemožné, protože vznikají velké, tvrdé a křehké intermetalidy a slitiny tak mají špatné mechanické vlastnosti. Použití technologie rychlého tuhnutí umožňuje vyrábět tyto materiály bezproblémově, nicméně, před standardní produkcí je nezbytné systematicky zkoumat strukturu a vlastnosti rychle ztuhlých polotovarů a kompaktních produktů. Rapid solidification technology (RST) and its introduction into a material processing overcame the problems with unacceptable material quality and broadened the scale of possible fabricated material. The use of conventional ingot metallurgy for fabrication of aluminium alloys with a larger portion of the elements, having a low diffusion coefficient, is impossible because coarse, hard and brittle intermetallics are formed and the alloys have low mechanical properties. The use of RST brings the possibility to produce them without any problems but before the standard production the structure and properties of the rapidly solidified semi-products as well as the consolidated bulk product must be evaluated systematically
