Description	The paper presents a new method of determinatioin of positioning error due to thermal expansion by infrared thermography. Temperature field of ball screw was measured by infrared camera. Image processing of obtained thermographic snapshots is carried out using software MATLAB. Consequently the positioning error of feed axes due to thermal expansion of ball screw is calculated. Results of experiments are compared with calculated positioning errors by FEM.
