Description
Simulátor umožňuje kombinaci odvalování a smýkání komponent náhrad. Během experimentu se uvolňují částice UHMWPE a dochází k nevratným změnám kluzných ploch. Je sledován hmotnostní úbytek materiálu komponent a změna morfologie povrchu. K dalšímu vyhodnocení jsou odebírány vzorky lubrikantu. (cs)
  • The goal of this research project is to increase the lifetime of total knee joint replacement. In the Laboratory of Human Biomechanics, motion under low relative velocities of friction surfaces in knee joint replacements is studied. For the knee joint replacement experiments, a KKK ELO 98001 simulator is used. The simulator enables the combination of rolling and sliding motion of replacement components with sinusoidal loading. The simulator operates in a range of loads from 250 N up to 1800 N. The basic motion of the simulator is also sinusoidal in a range from 0° to 30°. Horizontal anterior-posterior movement of 4 mm and rotation around the vertical axis of ±2° are added. The cycle frequency can be set from 0.25 - 2 Hz. During the experiment, a considerable amount of wear particles of the UHMWPE component is produced and the friction surfaces are irreversibly changed. Initially, the irregularities of tibia component are smoothed. Consequently, large amounts of UHMWPE wear are rel
