Description	The paper attempts to outline the current state-of-the-art regarding the use of building performance simulation as a design tool for refurbishment of buildings. This is illustrated by means of three recent studies for conversion of historical buildings into an office development, a museum gallery and a concert hall respectively. The paper elaborates the modelling and simulation work that was carried out to support the design teams of the three projects.
