  • The paper presents the methodology, results and recommendations regarding the double-skin façade office development. The main objective of the study was to generate performance data in support of the design by predicting the environmental conditions in the double-skin façade, and the resulting cooling loads for the adjacent perimeter offices during extreme summer conditions. The key problem is the strong thermodynamic coupling between the air flow through the naturally ventilated double-skin façade and the inside-outside air temperature difference. This interaction was predicted by state-of-the-art building energy modelling and simulation technique.
