Description
  • One of possible options to enhance the sustainability of concrete construction is the use of environmentally efficient concrete in light optimised structures. The paper bears on the optimisation of the ceiling construction of a light skeleton. Ceiling elements with inserts from recycled plastic were chosen on the basis of previous experience. The favourableness of production of these panels from usual concrete or from high-performance self-compacting concrete with ternary binder is discussed. On the basis of static design and life cycle assesement an optimum choice was found. The presented results show that the use of high performance self compacting concrete with ternary binders is advantageous from the point of view of LCA. The basic prerequisite for this is the employment of the concrete properties in the correct places in the structure.
