Description
  • The last ten years, the ground heat exchangers for preheating or precooling ventilation air have increased to use, because the construction of low-energy or passive houses are more expanded. During the cooling of ventilation air, usually in the first part of the summer, the soil is still cool down from the winter time, it occur condensation inside pipe work. This inside condition can be suitable environment for microbial growth, especially, if there are already contained impurities in the pipe work. The samples were taken from two real and for some time used ground heat exchangers to laboratory examination. The samples contained number of common microorganism and also facultative pathogenic, negative G, non-fermented, catalase-producing microbes. The numbers of samples and carried out tests cannot make general conclusion, on another hand the study showed to possibility of growing pathogenic microorganisms in filters of ground heat exchangers.
