  • Two ADV probes were used for the measurements of the local velocities and turbulent characteristics in boundary layers of flume flows in order to determine friction conditions at the flow boundaries. Three configurations of the top of the flow were tested and mutually compared: the flow with free water surface, the flow with water surface covered by a smooth solid plate and the flow with water surface covered by a very rough solid plate. The tests carried out for various installed flow rates and water depths showed that a presence of a solid plate at the top of the flow significantly affected the velocity profile and turbulent characteristics in the flow. Hence the presence of the water-surface cover considerably increased the shear velocity at the bottom of the flow. The paper comments on the test results and quantifies the effects of the velocity-profile deformation to the friction conditions at the bottom of the flow.

  • Příspěvek se zabývá využitím ADV sond za účelem stanovení namáhání dna koryta vlivem tečného napětí při průtoku vody. Jsou zde prezentovány výsledky experimentů provedených v laboratorním žlabu pro tři různé okrajové podmínky na hladině: proudění s volnou hladinou, hladkou deskou a deskou o velké drsnosti na hladině. Experimenty provedené pro různé průtoky a různé hloubky vody prokázaly významný vliv horní okrajové podmínky na rozdělení podélných složek rychlostí i na turbulentní charakteristiky proudu, kdy se po zakrytí hladiny výrazně zvýšily hodnoty třecích rychlostí u dna.
