Description	Cílem tohoto článku Cílem tohoto článku (cs) The aim of this paper is to evaluate benefits of the method of neural network in solving practical targets of the hydrological forecast. The method applied here is based on the assessment of relations between input and output variables of a hydrological system. The results coming from methods of the hydrological forecast (method of tendencies, method of an adequate discharge) are compared with the method of hydrometeorological forecast. I found the method of the neural network as a powerful tool to solve the problems of the hydrological forecast. However, it is evident that the knowledge of the antecedent discharge in the profile of investigation can provide us only with an effective short-time forecast (up to five hours). A longer forecast needs also the knowledge of discharge in an initial profile. In the low-flow regime, it seems to be effective to substitute the discharge by the data of the water level. (en)
