Description
  • The FISH method was used to analyse the impact of environmental pollution to human health. The study was performed in three European cities – Prague, Košice and Sofia in the groups of police officers and bus drivers who work usually through busy street for 8 h, and a control group who spent more than 90% of their daily time indoors. According to the original hypothesis the results confirmed that the most important group of chemicals responsible for the biological activity of air pollution represent carcinogenic PAHs.

  • Je to první práce používající ke studiu účinků znečištěného prostředí metodu FISH. Studie byla provedena ve třech evropských městech – Praze, Košicích a Sofii u skupiny městských strážníků a řidičů autobusů, kteří tráví většinu pracovní doby venku na ulicích, a u kontrolní skupiny osob, kteří tráví více než 90% denně v místnosti. Výsledky potvrdily původní hypotézu, že nejvýznamnější skupinu látek zodpovědných za biologickou aktivitu znečištění ovzduší představují karcinogenní PAU. (cs)
