  • Předchozí studie chování při použití inbredních linií naznačují, že gen (Abpa) pro alfa podjednotku slinného proteinu, který váže androgen, má význam v prezygotické izolaci mezi poddruhy myši domácí. Testovali jsme hypotézu na zvířatech z volně žijících allopatrických (121 jedinců ze 4 lokalit) a paropatrických (320 zvířat z 15 lokalit) populací z česko-bavorské hybridní zony mezi M. m. domesticus a M. m. musculus. Studie neprokázala statisticky významný trend homosubspecifické preference v individuálních populacích. Nicméně, celková struktura preferencí byla zkreslena k homosubspecifické preferenci především na straně M. m. musculus hybridní zony. Předpokládáme, že tato malá preference by sama o sobě nemusela být dostatečnou brzdou toku genů mezi oběma poddruhy a působit tak jako reprodukční bariera. (cs)
  • Previous behavioural studies using inbred lines have suggested that the gene (Abpa) for the alpha subunit of salivary androgen-binding protein (ABP) plays a role in prezygotic isolation between house mouse subspecies. We tested this hypothesis in animals from wild allopatric (121 individuals from four samples) and parapatric (320 animals from 15 samples) populations sampled in the Czech–Bavarian hybrid zone between M. m. domesticus and M. m. musculus . The study did not reveal statistically significant trend of homosubspecific preferences in individual populations. Nonetheless, the whole pattern of preference was skewed toward homosubspecific preference mostly on the M. m. musculus side of the hybrid zone. We suggest that this slight preference may not in itself be sufficient to impede gene flow between the two subspecies and thus act as a reproductive barrier.
