| - This article summarises the current results from the archaeological research into the Great Moravian Church No. 7 in Mikulčice in South Moravia, based on fresh analysis both of the find situation and also of the archaeological artifacts acquired and an anthropological analysis using the latest technology and techniques. This is a sacral building in the shape of a central section with an unconventionally-shaped apse, where the basic supporting structure of 40-centimetre-thick walls makes up a basket-work-style armature. The shrine was surrounded by a small cemetery containing 16 graves in all, very meagrely equipped. Assessment of the remnants of material culture leads us to believe that there was a rotunda during the last third of the 9th century, possibly extending into the early part of the following century. Analysis of the remnants of bone has shown that a group of 10 – 20 individuals, most probably members of the same family, was buried next to the church. In addition to the sacral section, a profane part was also found on a sandy dune very close by. This was therefore perhaps a proprietary church and the adjacent cemetery was probably a family necropolis, implying that the site as a whole was a magnate’s court which predominantly served settlement-representative, cultic and farming purposes. - Der Beitrag summiert die bisherigen Erkenntnisse über die archäologische Untersuchung der großmährischen Kirche Nr. 7 in Mikulčice (deutsch Mikultschitz) in Südmähren. Er stützt sich dabei sowohl auf die neue Analyse der Fundlage und der erworbenen archäologischen Artefakten, als auch auf die moderne anthropologische Analyse. Es liegt hier ein Sakralbau in der Form eines Zentralbaus mit einer atypischen Apsisform vor, wobei das grundlegende Trageelement der Konstruktion der 40 cm starken Wände die geflochtene Bewehrung war. Die Kirche wird mit einem kleinen Friedhof mit 16 Gräbern umgeben, die sehr armselig ausgestattet sind. Auf Grundlage der Auswertung der Denkmäler der materiellen Kultur kann man das Bestehen der Rotunde im letzten Drittel des 9. Jahrhunderts mit eventueller Überlappung in erste Jahre des darauf folgenden Jahrhunderts zulassen. Aus der Analyse der Skelettresten ergab sich, dass in der Nähe der Kirche eine Gruppe von 10 – 20 Menschen, d.h. mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit eine Familie begrub. Gemeinsam mit dem Sakralbereich wurde auch der Profanteil in der Sanddüne in der unmittelbaren Nähe erfasst. Auf Grundlage dessen kann man wohl die Kirche für eine Eigenkirche und das anliegende Gräberfeld für ein Familiengräberfeld halten und das ganze Gelände als einen Herrenhof mit überwiegender Siedlungs-, Repräsentativ-, Kult- und Wirtschaftsfunktion ansehen.
