Description
  • A first-principle theory of spontaneous volume magnetostriction is developed that is based on electronic structure calculations for a magnetically ordered ground state and a disordered-local-moment state. The applications include pure hexagonal gadolinium and selected rare-earth-based intermetallic compounds: RCo2 (R = Gd, Dy, Er) and GdAl2. The results are discussed in terms of magnitudes of the local moments and of volume-dependent exchange interactions.

  • Byla vyvinuta teorie spontánní objemové magnetostrikce založená na prvoprincipielních výpočtech elektronové struktury pro magneticky uspořádaný základní stav a stav s neuspořádanými lokálními momenty. Teorie byla aplikována na čisté hexagonální gadolinium a vybrané intermetalické sloučeniny vzácných zemin: RCo2 (R = Gd, Dy, Er) a GdAl2. Výsledky byly interpretovány pomocí velikostí lokálních magnetických momentů a objemově závislých výměnných interakcí. (cs)
