  • Byly studovány vzorkovací artefakty spojené s procesem vzorkování (nízko- a vysokoobjemové vzorkovače) a s adsorpcí/odpařováním uhlíkatých sloučenin během vzorkování aerosolů na 2 křemenné filtry v sérii v Gentu. Hmotnostní koncentrace ve frakci PM2.5 měřená pomocí nízkoobjemových vzorkovačů (NV) byla v průměru o 31% vyšší než hmotnostní koncentrace PM2.5 měřená pomocí vysokoobjemových vzorkovačů (VV). Hmotnostní koncentrace ve frakci PM2.5 měřená s NV spojenými s difúsním denuderem odpovídala 88% hmoty PM2.5 měřené s NV bez denuderů. Podobné výsledky pro NV a VV byly získány pro organický uhlík (OC). Hmotnostní koncentrace OC na 1. filtru v NV s denuderem odpovídala 68% hmotnostní koncentrace OC na 1. filtru v NV bez denuderu.   • Sampling artefacts related to the sampling procedure (high- or low-volume samplers) and those related to the adsorption and/or volatilization of carbonaceous species were studied during sampling of particulate matter (PM) on double quartz fiber filters in Gent. PM2.5 mass concentrations measured by means of the low-volume sampler (front filter) were, on average, 31% higher than those registered with the high-volume sampler. PM2.5 mass concentrations registered with the low-volume sampler coupled to the diffusion denuder represented 88% of the PM2.5 mass collected with the undenuded low-volume sampler. Similar values for organic carbon (OC) were recorded for the high- and low-volume samplers. Front filter OC levels for the denuded samples represented 66% of the front filter OC mass on the undenuded samples.
