Description
  • Dinuclear platinum complexes form on DNA several types of long-range interstrand cross-links in which each platinum moiety behaves as isolated monofunctional adduct. The conformational distortions caused in duplex DNA by formation of these adduct differ distinctly of those caused by interstrand cross-links of cisplatin. The main differences are flexible nondirectional bend, and a much lower ability of HMG1 protein to recognize these adducts.
