Description	Zwischen 2003 und 2004 wurde von einem Hobbyarchäologen, wahrscheinlich mithilfe eines Metalldetektors, im Wald Halín nördlich von Dobruška (okr. Rychnov nad Kněžnou/CZ) südlich der Gemeinde Běstviny ein eiserner Steigbügel und ein dazugehöriger Aufhängehaken gefunden. Der runde Steigbügel hatte eine verbreiterte Trittplatte und eine seichte Riefe an der Unterseite sowie eine rechteckige Trageöse. Die Oberfläche war mit geometrischen Motiven silbertauschiert. Eine der besten Parallelen fand sich - wahrscheinlich in einem Grab - in Kalisz-Zawodzie (woj. Łódź/PL). Der Steigbügel wurde mittels RFA-Analyse, unter dem Elektronenmikroskop und durch eine chemische Analyse von Proben des Drahts und der Blechstücke untersucht. Die Dreiecke der Trageösenverzierung bestanden aus Streifen von versilbertem Bronzeblech. Es ist daher davon auszugehen, dass es sich beim böhmischen Fund um einen Import gegenstand handelt. Der Steigbügel datiert in die zweite Hälfte des 10.-11. Jahrhunderts. Es ist bemerkenswert, dass die böhmische Elite eine genauso prunkvolle Ausrüstung und Ausstattung wie die der Nachbarländer verwendete. The iron stirrup was found in Běstviny, north of Dobruška in the district of Rychnov nad Kněžnou between 2003 and 2004. It was found on the barrow site dated to prehistory and the Early Middle Ages (8th to the first half of the 9th century). The round stirrup with a square loop and the enlargement above the footrest as well as the T-shaped hook are decorated with a geometrical copper-silver inlay. Several comparable stirrups of the early Hungarian style have been found in Zemplín and in the Carpathian Basin, the nearest complete analogy being found in Lutomiersk grave 55 (without inlay), Kalisz (Poland, 11th to the beginning of the 12th century) and Pritzerbe near Brandenburg (11th century). The technology was examined by RFA analysis and electron microscope. The copper material was fire-silvered, the triangles were made of narrow silver strips, and the wider belts consist of two or three strips. The inlayed ring mark on the reverse of the square loop is probably a sign of the blacksmith. The stirrup can be dated to the 10th-11th century, and it could be of a north-Viking origin, but it cannot be excluded that it is a product of local workshops (under foreign incentives). The find spot is not far away from a local centre, the hillfort Opočno (11th century). The ownership of the stirrup is unclear: it could be the property of a local horseman, but considering the war in 1068 (against Vratislaus II), it could also belong to a member of a foreign cavalry.
