| - Hydrological and meteorological conditions preceding two extreme periods of rainfall in the Krkonoše Mts. in summer 2002 and 2006 are discussed. Heavy rains in August 2002 and 2006 were caused by cyclones of Mediterranean origin. We analyze the role of insufficient plant transpiration in the formation of the two events. Meteorological data demonstrate that air temperatures were high for many days before the extreme rainfall in the Central Europe including the Krkonoše Mts. This indicates the possibility that overheating of the air was caused by insufficient precipitation, resulting in the lack of transpiration cooling of the Krkonoše Mts. In contrast, high soil moisture recorded in the Krkonoše Mts. before the extreme rainfall provides evidence that plant transpiration in the Krkonoše Mts. was not limited by water shortage. This means that the source of air overheating was outside the Krkonoše Mts.

- Jsou diskutovány hydrologické a meteorologické podmínky, které předcházely dvěma extrémním dešťům v Krkonoších v létě 2002 a 2006. Extrémní deště v srpnu 2002 a 2006 byly způsobeny cyklonami středomořského původu. Analyzujeme vliv nedostatečné transpirace na vzniku obou srážkových situací. Meteorologická data ukazují, že oběma extrémním srážkám předcházelo mnohadenní horké a bezsrážkové období v celé střední Evropě. Což evokuje možnost, že přehřátí vzduchu bylo způsobeno výpadkem transpiračního Krkonoš v důsledku nedostatku srážek. Naproti tomu však byla v Krkonoších v období před dešti zaznamenána dostatečná zásoba vody v půdě. Což znamená, že transpirace rostlin v Krkonoších nebyla omezena nedostatkem vody. Získané výsledky proto svědčí o tom, že zdroj přehřátí vzduchu ležel mimo území Krkonoš. (cs)
