  • Homogeneous nucleation rate isotherms of n-butanol + helium were measured in a laminar flow diffusion chamber at total pressures ranging from 50 kPa to 210 kPa to investigate the effect of carrier gas pressure on nucleation. Nucleation temperatures ranged from 265 K to 280 K, and the measured nucleation rates were between 102 cm-3s-1 and 106 cm-3s-1. The measured nucleation rates decreased as a function of increasing pressure. This negative carrier gas effect was also temperature dependent.Several sources of inaccuracies were considered in the interpretation of the results: uncertainties in the transport properties, non-ideal behaviour of the vapour-carrier gas mixture and shortcomings of the used mathematical model. Operation characteristics of the laminar flow diffusion chamber at both under- and overpressure were determined to verify a correct and stable operation of the device.

  • Abychom mohli studovat vliv nosného plynu na nukleaci, isotermní rychlosti homogenní nukleace n-butanolu + helia byly měřeny v difúzní komoře s laminárním tokem, pří celkových tlacích v rozmezí 50 kPa až 210 kPa. Nuklační teploty se pohybovaly v rozsahu 265 K až 280 K, a měřené rychlosti nukleace mezi 10^2 cm-3s-1 a 10^6 cm-3s-1. Měřené rychlosti nukleace klesaly se zvyšujicím se tlakem. Vliv tlaku byl take zavislý na teplotě. Při vyhodnocování výsledků byylo uváženo několik zdrojů nepřesností: nejistota v transportních vlastnostech, neideální chování paroplynné směsi a nedostatky použitého matematického modelu. Abychom ověřily funkčnost a stabilitu práce difúzní komory s laminárním tokem byly stanoveny pracovní charakterisktiky pro podtlak a přetlak. (cs)
