Description
  • The Fortran computer program performs decomposition of unconstrained moment tensor (MT) into isotropic (ISO) and deviatoric part, the latter one being split into double-couple (DC) and compensated linear vector dipole (CLVD). The DC describes shear dislocations – equivalents of slipping common at foci of tectonic earthquakes, the ISO and CLVD (marked as non-DC components) correspond to general types of dislocations as, e.g., tensile cracks or cavity implosions. It provides the estimate of the error of the decomposed MT components: it transforms the MT covariance matrix into confidence zones of the MT decomposition and the MT principle axes, providing information on the uncertainty of the DC/non-DC contents and of the orientation of the deviatoric part of the mechanism. Apart from the traditional fault-plane solution plot and the Riedesel-Jordan type of the MT display, the Matlab script constructs the 3-D wire-frame diagram of the mechanism.

  • Počítačový program v jazyce Fortran provádí rozklad obecného momentového tenzoru (MT) do izotropní (ISO) a deviatorické části, která je dále rozložena na dvojitý dipól (DC) a kompenzovaný lineární vektorový dipól (CLVD). DC popisuje střižnou dislokaci – silový ekvivalent tečného skluzu po zlomu obvyklého v ohniskách tektonických zemětřesení, ISO a CLVD (souhrnně označovány jako non-DC) odpovídají obecným typům rozrušení, jako je např. tahová trhlina nebo imploze dutiny. Program poskytuje odhad chyb jednotlivých složek mechanismu: transformuje kovarianční matici MT do konfidenčních zón (chybových těles) MT rozkladu a MT hlavních os, které nás informují o nejistotě v určení obsahu DC/non-DC a v orientaci deviatorické části MT. Vedle tradičního zobrazení nodálních rovin a Riedesel-Jordanova grafického schematu, Matlabovský skript konstruuje třírozměrný diagram mechanismu. (cs)
