Description	The aim of this paper was to compare the effect of different scale mapping methods (CORINE Land-Cover and Natura 2000) on landscape evaluation (using the Biotope Valuation Method) and define the area which is necessary to use the fine pattern mapping of Natura 2000 and when it is possible to use the rough pattern mapping of Corine LC. These mapping methods (habitat type mapping – Natura 2000 and land use mapping – Corine LC) were evaluated by the Biotope Valuation Method (BVM) in three map sheets ZM 1 : 10 000 whose choice was based on different landscape type and different natural biotopes content. They were cut to 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 and 1/32 to get the effect of scaling utilization. Two landscape values were counted for the whole map sheet and each segment: based on either Natura 2000 or CORINE LC data.
