| - Because of a similarity with CT examinations, a dose descriptor product of kerma and length PKL is used in panoramic radiology as well. The product of kerma and length in panoramic radiography is an integral of kerma profile created by the narrow beam at a front side of secondary collimator along a line perpendicular to the collimator. The quantity is integrated over the whole exposure cycle. There are three methods used for the PKL measurement, measurement can be performed by an X-ray film, by column of TLDs or pencil ionization chamber placed perpendicular to the secondary collimator. The results obtained through the mentioned methods agree within 10 % generally. A method of PKL measurement has been introduced in the Czech Republic to assess the doses received by patient, since no dose descriptor has been evaluated during QC test yet. A national diagnostic reference level will be assessed after collection and evaluation of a sufficient amount of data.

- Vhodný dávkový deskriptor pro panoramatickou zubní skiagrafii je jako v případě CT vyšetření součin kermy a délky. Je to integrál kermového profilu měřený u sekundární štěrbiny přístroje ve směru kolmém k této štěrbině. K měření této veličiny se používají tři metody, rentgenový film, svazek TLD nebo tužková ionizační komora umístěné kolmo k sekundární štěrbině přístroje. Získané výsledky těmito metodami se obecně neliší více než o 10 %. Metoda měření PKL se teprve zavádí v České republice do praxe k hodnocení dávek pacientů podstupujících panoramatické vyšetření, v současných QC testech se žádný dávkový deskriptor neměří. Po změření dostatečného množství pracovišť bude stanovena národní diagnostická referenční úroveň pro tento typ vyšetření. (cs)
