Description	A analysis of temporal changes of relative risk is based on the model, where the total individual exposure is partitioned into components in dependence on time. For smoking, this approach integrates both the time since quitting smoking and the amount of cigarettes. The model was applied in the cohort of 9411 uranium miners and in a hospital based case-control study. For both carcinogens - radon and smoking, the risk decrease with time since exposure, being about 1/3 for exposure occurring before 20-34 years in comparison to period 5-19 years. The highest risk per unit exposure is seen for small cell histological type, followed by squamous cell type. For adenocarcinoma, the risk is lower.
