Description	A three years experience with a PhD Programme in Systems Engineering and Business Informatics will be presented. The programme itself has been developed in a cooperation of three business faculties of three Czech Universities, all of them from the North-Eastern region of the Czech Republic. The contribution aims to explain the reasons leading to the establishment of a common %22virtual%22 doctoral study centre of this kind. Some more details about the programme will be described, and an analysis of the experience gained will be done. The main idea will be generalized in order to encourage others to create such coalitions offering a common business oriented doctoral programmes as a way how to improve the quality of doctoral programmes.
