| - Odrohování dospělého skotu představuje chirurgický zákrok vyvolávající stresové zatížení různé intenzity, které se může projevovat změnami v chování a změnami v hladinách kortisolu v krevní plasmě jako indikátorů stresu u skotu. Ke sledování stresové odpovědi během odrohování bylo použito 18 ks krav a jalovic červenostrakatého skotu ustájeného ve vazném ustájení. Zvířata byla rozdělena do 3 skupin po 6 zvířatech. První skupina zvířat byla odrohována za použití celkové anestezie intravenosní (i. v.) aplikací xylazinu a ketaminu. Druhá skupina byla odrohována při použití neúplné anestezie navozené intramuskulární (i. m.) aplikací xylazinu a svodného znecitlivění lidokainem. Třetí skupina byla odrohována při použití samotného svodného znecitlivění lidokainem. Dekornuace byla provedena chirurgickou metodou. Zvířatům byly odebrány vzorky krve na stanovení hladiny kortizolu 0,5 hod. před dekornuací a následně po zavedení centrálního venosního katetru do v. jugularis v intervalech 0; 0,5; 1; 1,5; 2; 2,5; 3; (cs)
- Dehorning of adult cattle is a surgical procedure causing distress of varying intensities that can be reflected in behavioral changes and changes in plasma cortisol levels as stress indicators in cattle. To monitor stress response during the dehorning process, 18 Red Pied cows and heifers were used, in tie-stall housing. The animals were divided into 3 groups, 6 animals in each. The first group was dehorned under general anesthesia induced by intravenous administration of xylazine and ketamine. The second group was dehorned under partial anesthesia induced by intramuscular administration of xylazine and local anesthesia with lidocaine. The third group was dehorned under local anesthesia with lidocaine. Dehorning was performed by a surgical method. The animals were withdrawn blood samples to determine cortisol levels 0.5 hours before dehorning, and then after inserting a central venous catheter into the jugular vein at 0; 0.5; 1; 1.5; 2; 2.5; 3; 3.5; 4; 5; 6; 7 and 8 hours postdehorning.
