| - Nedodržení podmínek welfare při přepravě krůt a krocanů na jatky zvyšuje stresové zatížení a může se projevit zvýšenými úhyny při přepravě. Počty jedinců uhynulých při přepravě nebo krátce po ukončení přepravy tak mohou být výrazným ukazatelem úrovně welfare při přepravě krůt a krocanů. V souvislosti s přepravou na jatky byly v České republice v období let 1997 až 2004 sledovány úhyny krůt a krocanů. Úroveň úhynů byla zjištěna 0,28 % +/- 0,06 %, avšak měnila se v závislosti na přepravní vzdálenosti. Při přepravní vzdálenosti do 50 km byla zjištěna nejnižší úroveň úhynů (0,18 % +/- 0,08 %), zatímco při vyšší přepravní vzdálenosti se výrazně zvýšila také úroveň úhynů přepravovaných krůt a krocanů (0,28% +/- 0,07 až 0,37% +/- 0,10%). Vliv na počty úhynů přepravovaných krůt a krocanů mělo také roční období. Celkově k nejvyšším úhynům dochází při dlouhých přepravních vzdálenostech v zimních měsících prosinci (0,34 % +/- 0,18 %), lednu (0,32 % +/- 0,06 %) a únoru (0,36% +/- 0,07%).
