  • This study was conducted to evaluate the mineral status of various bovine categories reared in the same farm, and in this way to monitor the quality of their mineral nutrition. Blood samples were collected in 20 farms in various regions of the Czech Republic to diagnose the selenium (Se), copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) status of dairy cows, calves, heifers and bulls. Dairy cows and calves showed lower GSH-Px activity in comparison with heifers and bulls. Se deficiency was diagnosed in 23% of individual dairy cows examined, 31% calves, 51% heifers and in 58% bulls. Dairy cows showed lower Zn and higher Cu concentrations in comparison with other categories. Zn deficiency was diagnosed in 41% of individual dairy cows examined and 13% of bulls. None of the calf or heifers herds were classified as Zn deficient. Cu deficiency was diagnosed in 28% of individual dairy cows examined, 70% of calves, 65% of heifers and 70% of bulls.

  • Cílem práce bylo vyhodnotit úroveň zásobení organismu různých kategorií skotu (dojnic, telat, chovných jalovic a býků ve výkrmu) chovaných ve stejném zemědělském podniku vybranými mikroprvky a tím monitorovat úroveň jejich mikrominerální výživy. Ve 20 zemědělských podnicích z různých částí České republiky byl proveden odběr krve za účelem diagnostiky stavu zásobení zvířat selenem (Se), mědí (Cu) a zinkem (Zn). Celkově byla u dojnic, v porovnání s ostatními kategoriemi, zjištěna statisticky průkazně nižší koncentrace Zn a průkazně vyšší koncentrace Cu. U jalovic a býků byla zjištěna statisticky průkazně nižší aktivita GSH-Px v porovnání s dojnicemi a telaty. Karence Se byla diagnostikována u 23 % dojnic, 31 % telat, 51 % jalovic a 58 % býků. Karence Zn byla diagnostikována u 41 % dojnic a u 13 % býků. Žádný z chovů telat ani jalovic nebyl vyhodnocen jako Zn deficitní. Karence Cu byla diagnostikována u 28 % dojnic, 70 % telat, 65 % jalovic a 70 % býků. (cs)
