| - During the period between 2000 and 2002, fifty-two dogs suffering from affecting P, tooth were diagnosed and treated at the Department of Surgery, Clinic of the Dogs and Cats, University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno, Czech Republic. The purpose of this study was to correlate the most frequent etiological factors with age and breed of the patients. Tooth fracture has been found as a dominant factor, causing periapical parodontitis in 77 % of patients, while the second most frequent cause observed in our settings was profound parodontitis, recorded in 13 % of cases. All the other diagnoses were rather rare, representing 10 % of cases, when put together. The average age of the patients was 8 years, while the age of patients diagnosed with parodontitis was 10 years and patients with developmental changes were one to two years old. However, we have not found breed-relationship concerning this diagnose. (en)
- Diese retrospektive studie wertes eine Gruppe von 52 Patientan, die in den Jahren 2000 bis 2002 in der chirurgischen Abteilung der Kleintierlinik VFU Brno behandelt wurden, statistisch aus. Das Ziel dieser Studie war, die häufigsten Ursachen der klinisch manifestierten apikalen Parodontitis am P4 und ätiologische Zusammenhänge mit Alter and Rasse der Patienten zu erfassen. Aus dieser Untersuchung geht hervor, dass in den überwiegenden Fällen der klinisch manifestierten apikalen Parodontitis eine Fraktur der Zahnkrone mit anschliessender Pulpitis zugrunde liegt, was in 77 % aller Fälle festgestellt wurde. Die zweihäufigste ursache ist eine fortgeschrittene Parodontitis (13 % der Fälle). Sonstige Ursachen wurden eher vereinzelt beobachtet und umfassten insgesamt 10 % aller registrierten Fälle. Das durchschnittliche Alter aller von uns untersuchten Patienten mit Parodontalerkrankung war zehn Jahre und Patienten mit Zahnbildungsstörungen waren ain bzw. zwei Jahre alt. Jako dominantní faktor vyvolávající periapikální parodontitidu u 77 % pacientů byla zjištěna fraktura zubu, druhou nejčastější příčinou byla závažná parodontitida, zjištěná u 13 % případů. všechny ostatní diagnózy byly méně časté a zahrnovaly dohromady 10 % případů. průměrný věk pacientů byl 8 let, pacientů s parodontitidou 10 let a pacientů s rozvíjejícími se změnami byl 1 až 2 roky. Vzájemná závislost diagnózy a plemene však zaznamenána nebyla. (cs)
