  • Byly studovány rozdílné kontrolované atmosféry při skladování dvou odrůd švestek 'President' and 'Stanley' (Prunus domestica L.). Plody byly uchovány 33 dnů v teplotě 3.0 - 3.3°C v nízkokyslíkaté atmosféře a kontrolované atmosféře(2.0% O2 a 6.6-7.0 % CO2), anaerobních podmínek (0.2% O2 a 1.0 % CO2) a normálně kyslíkaté atmosféře (21 % O2 a 0.03 % CO2). Následně byly skladovány 42 dnů v teplotě 3.0 - 3.3°C. U zdravých plodů se v nízkém obsahu byly zjištěna produkce ethanolu a acetaldehydu. Stanovena množství byla větší u odrůdy 'Stanley' než u odrůdy 'President'. Odrůda 'President' měla vždycky menší koncentrace etanolu jak odrůda 'Stanley', tyto koncentrace se pohybovaly v hodnotách 697 mg.1-1 to 855 mg.1-1 po 21 dnech uložení v anaerobních podmínkách. Kvalita plodů byla hodnocena pomocí 7 deskriptorů, které vyznačily off-flavour, kterým se hodnotila vhodnost atmosféry pro praktické skladování. Pevnost plodů při sklizni byla 0.8962 plus minus 0.0679 MPa pro odrůdu 'Stanley', pevnost pro odrůdu ' (cs)
