Description	Growth and viability of BY-2 cell suspension were compared during 5 days of culture in different media containing 2,4-D (2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid) and/or its derivatives - 2,4-D-Asp (2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetyl-aspartic acid), Me-2,4-D (methylester of 2,4-D), 4-CPA (4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid). The highest viability of BY-2 cells was observed during culture in the medium with 2,4-D-Asp. The increased total cell number affected by 2,4-D-Asp was statistically significant on the second day of culture.For the study of the uptake of 2,4-D 14C-2,4-D was used. After subculture the cells accumulated more 14C-activity than in the stationary phase of growth. At the beginning of the culture cycle the suspensions with 2,4-D-Asp accumulated more 14C-activity than cell suspension under standard culture conditions.
