Description	The Forest is a typical example for a renewable natural resource. The growing stock is able to grow up to that level that is enabled by the capacity of the ecosystem. The growth potential of forest stands is very important regarding its utilisation as timber resource. If the amount of timber harvested is less than or equals the amount of timber reproduced, harvesting can be repeated endlessly. In that case the postulation for sustainability is met. Contrary to that, the timber resource can be exhausted during a specific time period resulting in a depletion of the ecosystem. The paradigm of the neo-classical system, which forms the basis for the economy of natural resources, assumes that a human being as a subject acts rationally. (en) Der Wald ist ein typisches Beispiel einer erneuerbaren Naturressource, deren Holzvorrat bis zu dem Niveau, das die Kapazität des Ökosystems ermöglicht, wachsen kann. Das Wachstumspotential von Waldbeständen ist angesichts ihrer Ausnützung als sehr wichtig.Im Falle, dass die Holznutzung geringer oder gleich der Reproduktonsleistungsfähigkeit von Waldbeständen einer bestimmten förstlichen Einheit ist, kann sich die Holzernte wiederholen, womit die Förderungen an die Nachhaltigkeit eingehalten werden. Im entgegensetzen Fall kann die Holzressource während eines bestimmten Zeitabschnittes erschöpft werden. Im entgegengesetzten Fall kann die Holzressource während eines bestimmten Zeitabschnittes erschöpft werden, was eine Destruktion des Ökosystems zur Folge hat. Das Paradigma des neoklassischen Systems, auf das sich die Ökonomie von Naturressourcen stützt, geht davon aus, dass der Mensch als Subjekt handelt.
