Description
  • A traditional soil survey for mapping the spatial variability of soil is not too useful for purposes of precision agriculture because of the cost and labour consumption. At two experimental fields (52.5 and 37.8 ha) in South Moravia region (Czech Republic) the efficiency of the indirect methods to assess the spatial variability of soil agrochemical properties, measurement of soil electrical conductivity and aerial imaging, was verified. An optimization of soil sampling was tested based on the results of sensor mapping using ESAPRSSD software and compared with the regular sampling grids. Finally, a modification of the interpretation of nutrient content in soil was examined to obtain the most reliable prescription maps for variable rate application of fertilizers.
