Description	This paper describes possibilities of using data from the CAN bus for field tests procedures such as pulling tests. Testing procedure combined field testing with lab tests; thus, each engine of the tractor had been measured in laboratory before field testing. Parameters of CAN were verified by external instrumentation and their conformity with the true values was analyzed. It was found relatively large error in the low engine torque by CAN data; and so, for higher accuracy under the field conditions, it was necessary to use regression function. The model was validated and its resulting uncertainty was determined, concluding that it is inappropriate to take the data from the bus into account only, if no further statistical processing is accomplished.
