Description
  • The roughages are the base part in the dairy nutrition and their share reach to also 70 % of feeding ration dry matter yearlong (MASKALOVÁ, VAJDA, 2007). To the main feedstuffs forming the feeding ration for cattle belong annually maize silages. The maize starch has in the cattle nutrition its specifics. Firstly concerns the share of starch which will escape the rumen fermentation. The share of starch which was fermented by the rumen microorganism indicates the value of starch ruminal degradability. In the cereals (wheat, barley) is this number at intervals 80 -- 95 %, however the maize starch is fermented in rumen essentially less (45 -- 55 %) and its big part goes in post ruminal tract. In light of energy is more profitable when the degradation in rumen is limited and it is transferred in small intestine (KOPČEKOVÁ, 2002). As the next factors are described the different sizes of starch grain, different ratio of floury and vitreous endosperm (Michalet -- Doreau et al. 2005 in ULRICHOVÁ, ČEREŠŇÁK
