Description	Využití selenu bylo zjišťováno u pomalu rostoucích kuřat nosného typu (SG) a u rychle rostoucích brojlerových hybridů (FG) krmených ad libitum krmnou směsí s obsahem 265 mikrogramů selenu/kg, včetně 128 mikrogramů selenu přidaného ve formě seleničitanu sodného. Do 40 dní věku koeficient retence selenu stoupal (P < 0.05) denně u SG o 0.76 a u FG o 0.61%. Od 40 do 100 dní věku, regresní koeficienty nebyly průkazné. Koeficienty retence selenu a retence na jednotku přírůstku byly vyšší u SG. Vliv věku na obsah selenu v přírůstku byl patrný (P < 0.01). Od 5 do 40 dní byly alometrické koeficienty 1.444 u SG a 1.070 u FG, a od 40 dní do 100 dní byly 1.282 u SG a 1.081 FG.
