  • Effects of two doses of nitrogen (0.6 and 0.9 g N/pot) in combination with a foliar application of boron (10 mg B/pot) and two levels of P and K were studied in a pot experiment with poppy plants (Papaver somniferum L.). After the application of boron, amarked increase in its concentration in plants (112 -- 126 ppm) was observed. As compared with variants without boron, higher B concentrations were found in variants with the supply of this element within the whole course of growing season. Concentration of nitrogen decreased in the course of the growing season due to a dilution effect. However, there were no grater differences among individual variants. In combination with increased levels of N, P and K, the application of B on leaves increased the seed yield by 6.4 % and decreased production of straw by 6.7 % as compared with controls without the supply of this element. This fact was manifested also in the narrowest straw/seeds ratio. The volume of one capsule ranged in individual variants from 13.

  • Ve vegetačním nádobovém pokusu byl posuzován vliv dvou dávek dusíku 0.6 a 0.9 g N/nádoba spolu s foliární aplikací bóru v dávce 10 mg B na nádobu a dvou dávkách P a K při pěstování máku setého (Papaver somniferum L.). Po aplikaci B se projevil výrazný nárůst jeho koncentrace v rostlinách na úroveň 112-126 ppm ve fázi listové růžice (DC 35). Varianty s aplikací B vykazovaly jeho vyšší obsah v rostlinách během celé vegetační doby v porovnání s variantami bórem nehnojenými. Koncentrace N v rostlinách se vprůběhu vegetace snižovala v důsledku zřeďovacího efektu, avšak mezi jednotlivými variantami nebylo výraznějších diferencí. Foliární výživa B spolu s vyšší hladinou N, P a K se odrazila na nárůstu výnosu semene o 6.4 % a snížené produkci slámy o 6.7 % oproti kontrolní variantě bez bóru. To se projevilo i v nejužším poměru sláma/semeno. Objem 1 tobolky kolísal u jednotlivých variant mezi 13.1-16.6 ml.rostlina-1 bez přímé závislosti k výnosu semen, přičemž aplikace B našla své uplatnění jenom ve spojení (cs)
