| - The aim of the paper is to characterize the development of price levels in dairy commodity chain at Czech market and compare it with the development of prices at EU market and other important non-European markets with special attention to recent changes of supply and demand on the world dairy market. International market integration and globalization is in process also in the case of milk commodity, the competition on dairy market is no more considered as relevant only at regional or state level, the international trade is changing from the trade of surplus items into trade of highly processed and finalized products. It is not characterized only by the flow of trade, but also by forming of managerial and financial relations between dairy companies within regions, states and continents. The advantage of such international companies arising within this market is limitation of risk resulting from local economic fluctuation and price volatility. - Cílem příspěvku je charakterizovat vývoj cenových úrovní ve výrobkové vertikále mléko na českém trhu a porovnat tento vývoj s vývojem na vybraných trzích EU a dalších významných neevropských trhů. Pozornost je věnována zejména současnému vývoji a změnám nabídky resp. poptávky na světovém trhu s mlékem a mlékárenskými výrobky. Mezinárodní komparace nabývá na významu i u této komodity vzhledem k probíhající mezinárodní integraci a globalizaci trhu mléka a mlékárenských výrobků, konkurence zde již není vnímána pouze na úrovni krajů či států, ale ve stále větší míře na úrovni kontinentů či světového trhu. Mezinárodní obchod s mlékem a mlékárenskými výrobky se mění z obchodu s přebytky na obchod vysoce zpracovaných a finalizovaných výrobků. Internacionalizace a globalizace tohoto trhu není charakterizována pouze zahraničním obchodem, tzn. tokem výrobků, ale také formováním manažerských a finančních vztahů v rámci regionů, států či kontinentů.
