| - The Common agricultural policy (CAP) represents the main instrument of the regulation of agriculture as an integral part of the European Union´s internal market. It is based on three basic principles -- the common agrarian market, within its framework the free movement of goods has to occur, the preference of the agricultural products from the EU countries before the products having their origin outside the EU, and the solidarity of financing, i.e. the co-financing of the CAP from the EU budget. The fundamental reforms that the CAP undergone starting with the so called Agenda 2000 and ending with the reforms that had to be adapted to take account of the entry of the 10 new Member States on 1 May 2004 have adapted this complex of instruments and measures to the conditions under that the agriculture forms not only a part of the EU economy but also of the creation and further development of the rural area as such i.e. the landscape and environmental protection and the sustainable development of all rura

- Společná zemědělská politika (SZP) představuje hlavní nástroj regulace zemědělství jako důležité součásti vnitřního trhu EU. Je založena na třech hlavních zásadách - společném zemědělském trhu, v jehož rámci je zajištěn volný pohyb zemědělských produkt , preferenci zemědělských produktů ze zemí EU před zemědělskými produkty pocházejícími ze třetích zemí a solidaritě financování, tj. na financování SZP z rozpočtu EU. Rozsáhlé reformy, kterými SZP prošla -- počínaje tzv. Agendou 2000 a konče reformami vyplývajícími z přistoupení nových členských států k EU od 1.5.2004 -- přizpůsobily tento soubor opatření a nástrojů podmínkám, za nichž se zemědělství stává nejen součástí ekonomiky EU, ale i tvorby a rozvoje venkovského prostoru jako takového, tj. ochrany krajiny, životního prostředí a udržitelného růstu. Příspěvek se zabývá možnostmi, které SZP poskytuje novým členským zemím na podporu restrukturalizace zemědělství. (cs)
