| - Due to their positive externalities and high social importance, sports have been a traditionally subsidized part of life in the Czech Republic. In relation to the change in state allocation policy i.e. the shift from centralized to decentralized allocation policy, there has been a discussion on the concept of the differential support of sports and physical education on the level of state and regional governments. All the relevant institutions on the national, regional and municipal levels should function coordinately across the Czech Republic in their subvention policies so that financial resources are not dissipated and thus sports and physical education are not negatively impacted by inefficacy. Since 2000, the distribution of subsidies for sports and physical education has been directed to municipalities that invest into the development of sport and leisure time infrastructure aiming at the growth of local economics, tourism and recreation. - Článek se zabývá podporou sportu a tělovýchovy formou subvencí. Se změnou alokační politiky státu, tj. z centralizované na decentralizovanou jsou spojeny doposud ne zcela vyřešené otázky koncepce diferencované podpory tělovýchovy a sportu a kompetencí této podpory z různých úrovní státní správy a samosprávy. Absence koordinované politiky podpory s sebou nese negativní dopady na rozvoj sportu, nevyváženost přídělu finančních prostředků do sportovního prostředí a současně i neefektivnost vynakládaných prostředků s vysokým podílem politických a lobbystických rozhodnutí. Analýza poskytovaných subvencí z jednotlivých úrovní státní správy včetně analýzy finančních toků sportovního a tělovýchovného prostředí pěti krajů jsou podkladem k návrhu diferencované subvenční politiky sportu a tělovýchovy včetně prioritních kompetencí jednotlivých úrovní státní správy. V návrhu diferencované subvenční politiky je upřednostňována prioritní funkce státu v oblasti reprezentace a vrcholového sportu, u krajů - v oblasti (cs)
