| - Recently, a very interesting article entitled %22Intake of anthocyanidins pelargonidin and cyanidin reduces genotoxic stress in mice induced by diepoxybutane, urethane and endogenous nitrosation%22 by authors Nidhi Khandelwal and Suresh K. Abraham, was published in Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology (Khandelwal and Abraham, 2014). The authors demonstrate that genotoxic stress in mice, induced by diepoxybutane and/or urethane, is reduced by pre-treatment of mice with anthocyanidins pelargonidin and cyanidin. A contribution presented below suggests that the effects of pelargonidin and cyanidin could be due to the involvement of aryl hydrocarbon receptor AhR signaling pathway.
