  • The paper is focused on earthquakes as one of the most danger geohazard. The objectives of the study are to assess the affect of selected geohazards to populated areas using geoinformation technologies available via internet. All suggested steps are executable by logical exploration and understanding of basic geographical knowledge. Geohazards assessment is based on visual comparison of several web maps (map of earthquake, map population density and map of vegetation opened in different windows on display) which users generate themselves. The study uses interactive web projects which offer the latest data from earthquake monitoring. It makes the study to repeat every day with different data input. Additionally, Geography Network web project involves many geographical themes that can be included into the study and put emphasis to another aspect of earthquake effects.
