Description	Článek se věnuje rozlišení distribuce IAA, IAA prekurzorů a konjugátů na úrovni buňky v kořenových špičkách Arabidopsis thaliana. (cs) Auxin has been shown to be important for many aspects of root development, including initiation and emergence of lateral roots, patterning of the root apical meristem, gravitropism and root elongation. Previous work has demonstrated that auxin biosynthesis occurs in both aerial portions of the plant and in roots (Ljung et al., 2001), and thus, the auxin required for root development could come from either source, or both. We monitored IAA synthesis in 0.5 mm sections of Arabidopsis roots, and were able to identify an important auxin source in the meristematic region of the primary root tip as well as in the tips of emerged lateral roots (Ljung et al., 2005). We have recently been able to demonstrate that this root tip localized synthesis is under rapid postive control of cytokinins thereby giving an extra dimension to the apical dominance theory. It is however not known which cell types that are the true IAA source.
