Description	Postcommunist towns are characterized by high dynamic of changes in spatial structure. This spatial changes were produced especially by changes of principles of society. Transformation of economy from centralist to market had main role. The changes were shown in the area of study town too. Olomouc belongs among the oldest and the biggest towns in the Czech Republic (more than 100 000 inhabitants). The remotely sensed data appears to be the cheapest, fastest and the most efective source for monitoring of rapidly changing urbanised regions. Data processing allows qualitative and quantitative evaluation of this change and fast map production. In that case, the main data source were two scenes from LANDSAT. The first image was from LANDSAT 5 TM from 1990and the second image was from LANDSAT 7 ETM+ from 2000. With the comparison of classification of two time horizons it was possible to evaluate and classify the trends in dynamic of spatial transformation in Olomouc at the last decenium.
