| - Although the unsuccessful Prussian siege of Olomouc in 1758, during the Seven Years' War, has already received quite extensive coverage in old and recent literature, there has not yet been a comprehensive analysis of the conduct of the Austrian military commanders of the place during their strenuous defence of this central Moravian city. Its capture by the Prussian King Frederick II would have had far-reaching consequences. The aim of this paper is to address this omission, where historical sources allow. The introduction retraces the main events of these military operations in the form of a brief chronological overview, followed by a list of Imperial officers involved in the defence of Olomouc during the siege by the Prussian army from 4 May to July 2, 1758. Historical records have preserved the names of 26 Imperial officers on duty within the fortifications of Olomouc, and of 12 officers operating outside the fortifications. This list, however, does not claim to be complete; the authors believe that the inventory will be subsequently enlarged - in particular, the authors did not have access to the diary of the then commander of the Fortress of Olomouc, Ernst Dietrich Marschall von Burgholzhausen. In a subsequent article, biographies of Imperial officers will also be included with additional information as well as iconographic material - however, the biographies of Baron Ernst Gideon Laudon and Count Leopold Joseph von Daun will be given only in outline as literature related to these two commanders is already copious and easily accessible. In the first part of the article, the reader will find biographies of Ernst Dietrich Marschall von Burgholzhausen (1692-1771), the commander of the Fortress of Olomouc during its siege by the Prussian army; of his deputy, Klaudius Hyacinth Bretton (1697-1779); and of the commander of the 1st Brigade, Count Josip Dražković of Trakošćan (1716-1765). - Přestože neúspěšnému pruskému obléhání Olomouce během sedmileté války v roce 1758 je věnována již značně obsáhlá starší i recentní odborná literatura, chybí doposud důkladnější práce o vojenských velitelích usilovné obrany tohoto středomoravského města, kteří zamezili dalekosáhlým důsledkům jeho pádu do rukou výbojného pruského krále Friedricha II. Cílem této studie je tento nedostatek napravit, pokud to dovolují historické prameny. od 4. května do 2. července 1758. Historické záznamy zachovaly jména 26 císařských důstojníků v rámci opevnění Olomouce a 12 důstojníků vně jejího opevnění. V první části článku čtenář najde životopisy Ernsta Dietricha Marschalla von Burgholzhausen (1692-1771), velitele pevnosti Olomouce během jejího obléhání pruskou armádou, dále jeho zástupce, Klaudia Hyacinta Brettona (1697-1779); a velitele 1. brigády hraběte Josipa Dražkoviće z Trakošćanu (1716-1765).
