Description	Een van de manieren waarop we proberen om ons leven te organiseren is de vorming van stereotypen, door Walter Lippmann (1922) gedefinieerd als een %22picture in our head%22. De Nederlandse literatuurtheoreticus en historicus Joep Leerssen heeft een theorie ontwikkeld over de historische achtergrond van stereotypen. Zijntheoprieën worden in deze bijdrage bediscussieerd aan de hand van een analyse van stereotypen van buitenlanders in Nederlandse, Duitse en Tsjechische fraseologismen. Het corpus is gevormd door de standaard lexica - Huizinga's Spreekwoorden en Gezegden, Wahrig Deutsches Wörterbuch en Čermák, Slovík české frazeologie a idiomatiky. De bijdrage tracht inzicht te geven in mogelijke redenene voor de ontwikkeling van deze stereotypen van andere naties in de genoemde talen. De conclusie is dat de meete traditioneel gebruikte stereotypen dateren uit de renaissance, vooral uit de Dertigjarige Oorlog. One of the ways we are trying to organize our living environment is the forming of stereotypes, defined by Walter Lippmann (1992) as a picture in our head. The Dutch literary theoretician and historian Joep Leerssen developed a theory on the historic background of stereotypes. His theories are discussed in this paper by examining stereotypes of foreihn nations in Dutch, German and Czech phrseologies. The corpus of the xamples is formed by standard lexicons - Huizinga's Spreekwoorden en Gezegden, Wahrig Deutsches Wörterbuch and Čermák, Slovík české frazeologie a idiomatiky. The paper tries to give an insight in possible reasons to develop stereotypes of other nations in the mentioned languages. The conclusion is that most of the traditionally uused stereotypes are dating back to the Renaissance, mainly to the Thirty Years' War. (en)
