  • The article examines the African queens Dido and Belakane and their relationships with the heroes Eneas and Gahmuret in Heinrich von Veldekes %22Eneasroman%22 and Wolfram von Eschenbach's %22Parzival%22. By confronting the texts with theoretical approaches on %22foreignness%22 the ambiguity of the freedom the heroes gain as foreigners as well as the consequences for the African queens enabling that freedom and in the end being deserted are illustrated.   • In diesem Artikel werden die afrikanischen Königinnen Dido und Belakane und ihre jeweilige Beziehung zu den Helden Eneas und Gahmuret im Eneasroman Heinrichs von Veldeke und im Parzival Wolframs von Eschenbach untersucht. Anhand von theoretischen %22Fremdheits%22-Konzeptionen? werden dabei sowohl die Ambivalenz des in der Fremde errungenen Freiheitszuwachses der Helden als auch die Auswirkungen auf die diesen ermöglichenden und am Ende von den Helden verlassenen afrikanischen Königinnen aufgezeigt.
