Description
| - The noise propagation analysis is critical in noise loaded areas for a remedy search. Very useful tool for these analyses is mathematical modeling. Any modeling of a real world scenario has to consider a number of input data, noise sources, the landscape over which the noise is propagating and the location of the receivers. All these input data has a spatial character and that’s why it was decided to perform the noise propagation modeling in the GIS environment. A noise pollution modeling takes the geometry from the Geo-database together with the source definition and calculates the spatial noise distribution over the observed area. The geometry needs to be installed in the Geo-Database as a 3 dimensional model of the world with all objects in place that influence the propagation of the noise. The results of the calculations are written into spatial data files. Results then can be visualized, analyzed and presented effectively using GIS. Most of the model algorithmization and verification was performed in works of environmental engineering students of VSB-TU Ostrava.
