  • For two different high manganese steels, with approximately 6 wt. % of aluminium and one with 26 wt. % of manganes (marked as A) and the second with 22 wt. % of manganese (marked as B) in the temperature range of 600°C to 1150°C hot ductility, expressed by reduction of area, was investigated. Determination of stacking fault energy, strength properties and dilatometric measurement of TRIPLEX matrixes completed the hot ductility information. For both steels the deepest troughs were detected between 600°C-800°C which were ascribed to observed AlN particles. The steel A showed the second trough between 900°C-1000°C and the most assumed reason could be the revealed in-homogeneity in form of shrinkage porosities.
