  • Along with tightening the limits of dust emissions from wood stoves and fireplace inserts, a question about correct determination of their quantity arises. Time behaviour of dust concentration in a dilution tunnel was monitored. The first minutes after stoking up comprised dominant part of the total dust production. In about the first 10 minutes after stoking up, about 60 to 70 % of the total dust production was emitted during one combustion period. This is very important for taking precautions against TSP production from these combustion devices. Final value of TSP concentration determined in accordance with methods used in DINplus and ISO 9096 (EN 303-5) is strongly influenced by the starting time of sampling. The later start of sampling after stoking up, the lower final concentration of TSP.
