Description
| - Nitrous oxide is one of the trace gases that contribute to greenhouse warming as well as stratospheric ozone depletion. The role of vehicular emissions in the global inventory budget is currently in doubt due to two recent findings : (1) catalytic converters increase the levels of N2O emissions from vehicles, and (2) past measurements are questionable due to the discovery of artofact N2o during collection and due to interference of CO and CO2 during analysis the infrared spectrophotometry (IR). For elimination of carbon monoxide interferences, the set of methods has been tested, inclued absorption methods and selective oxidation of CO. As an optimal method for carbon monoxide elimination has been chosen selective oxidtion in specially constructed fixed-bed reactor filled with platinum-based catalyser.

- Oxid dusný je jedním z nejvýznamnějších plynů, který se svou přítomností v atmosféře podílí na redukci ozónové vrstvy a na vzniku skleníkového efektu. Zhodnocení příspěvku emisí N2O z mobilních zdrojů - automobilů k výše uvedeným jevům je závislé na dvou faktorech : (1) katalyzátory v určité době své životnosti zvyšují hodnotu emisí N2o z aut, a (2) měření koncentrací oxidu dusného z emisí automobilů byly zkreslovány tvorbou artefaktů při diskontinuálním měření a interferencemi CO a CO2 při analýzách infračervenou spektrofotometrií.
